Allow Your Universe to Expand
When I slept under the stars for the first time without a tent, my whole world opened up.
Lying exposed beneath an endless sky of glittering stars, I realised that a simple act of courage could completely shift my perception of what was possible. That night fundamentally changed how I see myself and what I believe I can do, both in the outdoors and in everyday life.
I designed Under the Stars to share that feeling of expansion with other women who are hesitant to take the next step toward what’s truly calling them, or who feel a niggling sense that life has something more to offer.
Despite what we’re lead to believe, you don’t need to be an expert to pursue what you love. You just need enough know-how to get started and proof that you’re capable, and that’s what this weekend is all about.
Under the Stars is an intimate group experience for women who want to build confidence in the outdoors and explore their relationship with fear in a safe and supportive environment.

Under the Stars is a two-night, small group camping experience on the lower Sunshine Coast in British Columbia designed to help women—including trans women, as well as non-binary people who feel comfortable in a women-centered space—to build confidence in themselves through practical outdoor activities and guided reflection.
You will arrive on Friday evening and be welcomed into a calm, supportive environment where you’ll begin engaging with the foundations of outdoor competency: setting up tents, organizing sleep systems, and becoming familiar with the physical space.
On Saturday you’ll begin exploring the concept of fear through solo journaling and grounded group conversations, noticing how fear shows up for you and how your response to it can shift. In combination with activities designed to build basic outdoor competency and resilience, you’ll head into the evening with a new level of confidence and self-awareness.
Following a night walk to sharpen your senses in the dark, you’ll be introduced to the core experience: lying beneath the open sky together. You can remain outdoors for as long as you like, or return to your tent whenever you wish. You’re in control of how far you push your edges.
The retreat will close on Sunday morning with time for reflection, helping you to integrate what you’ve experienced into your daily life.
Under the Stars is not an advanced technical training course. It is a structured and supportive introduction to the foundational outdoor skills that help you build confidence in your own capability, while developing a new relationship with fear so it no longer dictates what you feel capable of.
Under the Stars acknowledges that our retreats take place on the unceded ancestral lands of the shíshálh Nation and expresses gratitude for the opportunity to gather and learn on this land.
Hi, I’m Rozanne. For most of my adult life I’ve worked behind the scenes on large international events, including Olympic, Asian and Commonwealth Games, and have facilitated workshops in different parts of the world over the past 20 years.
Outside of that work, I’ve always been drawn to test what I’m capable of both physically and mentally.
In 2011, I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for cancer research after my sister was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Two years later, I set off to solo hike the 4,200-kilometre Pacific Crest Trail in the United States, and have since hiked more than 8,000 kilometres across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
Even after all of these experiences, fear still shows up for me regularly. I haven’t done these things because I’m fearless. I’ve simply learned to keep moving forward even when fear is present.
Because my time in the outdoors has helped me rebuild my confidence in so many areas of life, my goal is to create opportunities for other women to experience that shift for themselves.

It’s completely normal to feel a mix of curiosity and hesitation about something like this. Most women who are drawn to Under the Stars feel some level of uncertainty. Please reach out to set up a call if you have further questions.

-
Yes, and we approach safety in a grounded, realistic way.
We take care with things like food storage and campsite setup, and being in a small group naturally creates a very different environment than being alone.
-
This is one of the most common fears.
In reality, animals are not interested in people, they are interested in food. With proper food storage and a clean campsite, the risk is very low.
We’ll talk through how to store food, how to avoid attracting wildlife, and what to do if you do encounter an animal, so it feels more understandable and less intimidating.
-
That’s completely okay.
Sleeping under the stars is optional. You are welcome to sleep in a tent. The goal is that you feel comfortable, not pushed.
